EmaOS
Our in-house IoT operating system — a lightweight, secure OS for connected devices, with over-the-air updates, device management and edge telemetry built in from the silicon up.
The brief
Every IoT project we took on meant wrestling with a different vendor firmware — inconsistent security, painful updates, and no shared way to manage devices once they were in the field. We wanted one operating system of our own that any connected product could be built on, secure and updatable by default.
What we built
EmaOS is a lightweight OS for constrained devices: a hardened, memory-safe core that boots in milliseconds, a power-aware scheduler, and a secure boot chain with signed over-the-air updates. Devices register to a cloud control plane for fleet management, remote config and edge telemetry, and the same image runs across microcontrollers from different vendors so hardware choices stay open.
The outcome
EmaOS now runs on 1.2M+ devices in the field within a sub-256KB memory footprint, with every update cryptographically signed and rolled out in stages. New connected products start from a dependable, secure base, and a fleet that once needed site visits to patch now updates itself overnight.
