Our in-house system administrators’ toolkit — a suite of tools and apps for managing servers, users and deployments, with remote access, automation and monitoring in one console.
The brief
Our admins kept stitching together SSH, a pile of scripts, three monitoring tabs and a spreadsheet of credentials just to keep fleets healthy. It was slow, error-prone and impossible to audit. We built the toolkit we wished we had — one place to see, reach and operate every machine.
What we built
RootKit is a suite of system administration tools and apps: an inventory and fleet console, secure browser-based remote terminals and file access, user and permission management with SSO and full audit logs, and an automation engine for patching, deployments and routine runbooks. Built-in monitoring and alerting tie into it all, so seeing a problem and fixing it happen in the same window.
The outcome
RootKit now manages 8k+ servers with 200+ automations running routine work hands-free. Access is single sign-on and fully audited, incidents are resolved from one console instead of a dozen tools, and onboarding a new machine takes minutes.
